The Parent-Teacher Association of Sanjay Centre for Special Education has condemned the statement made by the institute’s chairman Siddharth Kuncalienkar that the parents were misled to hold an agitation. “He should not have said that we were misled to hold a protest. Parents have been hurt. If Kuncalienkar has taken the issue ahead then why have we not got any justice? Why are the students at home for the last four months,” said PTA chairman Ramesh Virnodkar. “The sudden meeting with parents that was called some days ago was like a stunt because of the festival. We were called on the previous night of the meeting asking some parents to come. Let him give us an assurance in writing,” he said. Demanding opening of the vocational centre of Sanjay School for Special Education, the parents along with Disability Rights Association of Goa had staged a protest at Azad Maidan, Panaji. Reacting to the protest, Kuncalienkar had said that they have already held a meeting with the parents and given them the proposal to shift the vocational centre to the SCERT building and the parents were misled to hold an agitation.
