Once a popular spot for foreigners to do yoga & meditation, this banyan tree in Dabol vaddo chapora has turned into a garbage dumping site. Just a few days back, unknown person had dumped hundreds of garbaged filled bags here blocking the main road. Immediately after In Goa News report, the authorities swung into action and cleared the Garbage. Speaking to In Goa News, one of the local said that the area was once popular among tourists, who come here and perform yoga & meditate under the banayan tree. But since the time panchayat setup a garbage collection point, the whole area has turned into a garbage dump site and nobody visits the area anymore. The Villagers in the vicinity have voiced their grievances, citing foul smells emanating from the dumped garbage and expressing concerns about a notable increase in dengue cases.
