After 38 years, the historic Dev Ritual Shant Mahayagya is being organized in Gawas village of Rohru in Shimla district in the presence of deity Gudaru Maharaj. Today is the last day of this ceremony. More than 12 gods and goddesses and more than 20 thousand Devlu and Khund have reached this historical Mahayagya. According to the prevalent tradition, the successful conduct of this Dev ritual brought happiness and prosperity to the area.

CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today participated in the Shant Mahayagya being organized after 36 years at Gavas in Rohru assembly constituency of district Shimla. He prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the state by offering prayers in the temple of deity Gudaru Maharaj.
Thousands of people from the area have come to participate in the Shant Mahayagya with traditional musical instruments. Also, seven deities and 13 khunds of Rohru and Jubbal areas are being included.
