A gold bangle worth Rs 1 lakh was stolen from a prominent jewellery shop ‘M S Lotlikar’ in Vasco on Friday afternoon.
According to the owner Kripesh Bandodkar, the incident which was captured on CCTV came to light on Friday evening while counting of stocks.
“Two persons had come to the shop at around 11.30 am and were wearing caps and dark eye glasses. They began inquiring about some small gold items. While our staff was showing them the gold ornaments, one person stole a gold bangle and the incident was captured on CCTV,” said Bandodkar.
He said the weight of the bangle was around 11.2 grams and approximately valued at around Rs 1 lakh.
“We have the CCTV footage and we can see the culprits clearly. We carry out the closing of stock at night while closing the shop and we realised that one gold bangle was short and checked for CCTV where we found the footage of the person taking away the gold bangle,” said Bandodkar.
He said the two unknown persons were speaking in Hindi.
Bandodkar later reported the matter to the police and provided CCTV footage as evidence.
