The Farmers Convention held at Marcaim Ponda demanded Amendment in Kul and Mundkar Act. The farmers attending the melavaa claimed that the Kul Mundkar Act failed to give justice to them for past fifty years with many cases pending in court . They demanded with government to bring amendment asking landlords to prove their ownership rights. Adv Sadananad Vaigankar said even during Portuguese rule it was difficult for them to sell the land in Goa but after Goa liberation Goa's lands are easily sold to outsider. He said what made easy to sell this land should be investigated by government.
