Benaulim fishermen spotted the carcass of a dolphin floating in the sea off the Benaulim coast on Thursday.

Fisherman Pele Fernandes suspected that the dolphin might have died only recently and is likely to be washed ashore either tonight or tomorrow. “We noticed the dolphin carcass floating in the sea when on a fishing trip. It is likely that the carcass will be washed ashore tonight or tomorrow,” he said.

Pele pointed out that the Benaulim beach had in the past played host to carcass of dolphins, which were later disposed of by the fishermen on the coast.
