In compliance with the orders of the National Green Tribunal, time has been fixed for bursting of firecrackers on Diwali, Gurupurva, Christmas and New Year's Eve in the urban areas of Kangra district also. In this regard, orders have also been passed by DC Dr. Nipun Jindal. According to these orders, only green firecrackers i.e. less polluting firecrackers are allowed to be burst on these festivals. In this, crackers can be burst from 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali on 12th November, from 4 am to 5 pm on Gurupurva 27th November and from 9 pm to 10 pm. Permission must be taken from SDM to sell firecrackers. There will be a complete ban on bursting of firecrackers in markets, government office complexes, heritage buildings and noise restricted areas.
