The construction work of the building of Himachal Pradesh's oldest and largest Government Vallabh Mahavidyalaya, Mandi, being built using new technology, has been stalled for the last one year. During the previous BJP government of Himachal Pradesh, former CM Jairam Thakur had released an amount of more than Rs 26 crore for this earthquake resistant five-storey academic building. But later the estimate was made again to make the building steel fabricated which is around Rs 41 crore. The construction work of this building started in 2021 in which most of the work has been completed but the work of roofing and finishing work of such a big building had stopped during the time of the previous government. The reason for this is the lack of provision in additional budget. The new government is also not paying any attention to this. Due to which this building built at a cost of crores is lying incomplete.
