Five years ago on October 12, Sohum Shah gave one of the best horror thrillers of Indian cinema with Tumbbad. The film didn’t grab much eyeballs during its release but eventually ended up becoming a cult classic. As the film clocks its 5th anniversary, Sohum got in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar where he spoke about his journey with the film as well as in the industry. Sohum recalled handling the responsibilities of his family at an early age, being a real estate agent and how his entry to acting happened. The actor-producer revealed facing discrimination due to his lack of knowledge of English. He also commented on how only men with six-pack abs were considered for leading roles when he started. Talking of Tumbbad, he remembered the challenges he faced to release the film after completing it in 2015. From selling his car and flat to having people not pick up his calls, he shared the whole ordeal. Sohum spoke about him and the film’s whole team losing hope of it releasing ever. He revealed the plans of the future of the film, insisting he wants to make 6 films in the Tumbbad franchise as well as a reboot. Check out the entire exciting conversation here.
