Shimla : Zilla Parishad cadre officers and employees have been on strike for six days demanding merger with the Panchayati Raj Department and not getting the benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission. He says that he will remain on indefinite strike until his demands are met. On Tuesday, a meeting of the Zilla Parishad cadre with the Panchayati Raj Minister was also held in the Secretariat which remained inconclusive. Now they say that their strike will continue until their demands are not met. At the same time, Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh has appealed to the Zilla Parishad cadre to end the strike in this time of disaster and said that they should not force the government to take drastic steps.
