Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas programme on 31st October and paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He also witnessed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Parade, which comprised of marching contingents from BSF and various state police. The special attractions included a daredevil show by all women CRPF Bikers, women pipe band of BSF, choreographed programme by Gujarat women police, special NCC show, school bands display, fly past by Indian Air Force, showcasing of economic viability of vibrant villages, among others.

The PM while addressing the nation said, 'The next 25 years are the most crucial 25 years of this decade for India. In these 25 years, we have to make our India prosperous, we have to make our India developed.'

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, or National Unity Day, is celebrated on 31st October every year to mark the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and to honour his contribution to India’s Independence and beyond, and most notably during the integration of the princely states in India
