દેશના મુદ્રા અને કંડલા બંદર કચ્છમાં આવેલા છે અને બન્નેની ગણના મહાબંદરોમાં થાય છે. આ ટ્રાફિકથી ગ્રસ્ત બન્ને બંદરો પર વિદેશથી અનેક ચીજવસ્તુઓની આયાત અને નિકાસ થતી હોય છે. બીજીતરફ ઘણા સમયથી કચ્છમાં દાણચોરી મારફતે જંગી જથ્થામાં સોપારી આવતી હોય છે. જેમાં અનેક કિસ્સા ચર્ચાસ્પદ પણ બન્યા છે. તેમાં પણ તાજેતરના મંદ્રાના દાણચોરીના સોપારી પ્રકરણમાં પોલીસનો તોડકાંડ કાળી ટીલી સમાન બન્યો છે. મંદ્રામાં સોપારી દાણચોરી હવે જાણે નવાઈની વાત ન હોય તેવું જણાઈ રહ્યું છે. કંડલા-કાસેઝ આસપાસના વિસ્તારમાં સોપારીની દાણચોરી કરતી કોઈ ચોક્કસ સિન્ડીકેટ મેદાને પડી હોય તેવુ લાગી રહ્યું છે. તેમાં પણ ખાસ કરીને રોકસોલ્ટ ડિક્લેર કરીને તેની આડમાં સોપારી આયાત કરાય છે. બાદમાં પલ્ટી મારીને તગડી દાણચોરી ડ્યુટી ચોરી કરી લેવાના કારખાનાઓનો એક પછી એક પર્દાફાશ થઈ રહ્યો છે.
