2020 ല്‍ ഇതിനുള്ള പദ്ധതി പൂര്‍ത്തിയാകുമെന്ന്, ചൈനയുടെ ഔദ്യോഗിക പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണമായ 'സയന്‍സ് ആന്‍ഡ് ടെക്‌നോളജി ഡെയ്‌ലി' റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടു ചെയ്തു.
സൂര്യപ്രകാശത്തെ വന്‍തോതില്‍ ഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഭീമന്‍ ദര്‍പ്പണമുള്ള ഉപഗ്രഹങ്ങളാണ് 'കൃത്രിമചന്ദ്രന്‍മാര്‍'. ഇതുവഴി ഭൂമിയില്‍ പതിക്കുന്ന പ്രകാശം, തെരുവ് വിളക്കുകള്‍ക്ക് പകരമാകുമെന്ന് ചൈനീസ് മാധ്യമം റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നു.3600 മുതല്‍ 6400 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെ വിസ്തൃതിയില്‍ കൃത്രിമചന്ദ്രപ്രകാശം ലഭ്യമാകും.
സാധാരണ ഗതിയില്‍ ചന്ദ്രനില്‍നിന്നുള്ള പ്രകാശത്തിന്റെ എട്ട് മടങ്ങ് വെളിച്ചം മനുഷ്യനിര്‍മിത ചന്ദ്രനില്‍ നിന്ന് ലഭിക്കുമെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ പറയുന്നു.
ഭൂമിയില്‍നിന്ന് 380,000 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയാണ് ചന്ദ്രന്‍ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നത്. അതേസമയം കൃത്രിമചന്ദ്രന്‍ ഭൗമോപരിതലത്തില്‍നിന്ന് 500 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ഉയരെയുള്ള ഭ്രമണപഥത്തിലാണ് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുക.പദ്ധതി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ ഊര്‍ജലാഭം സാധ്യമാകുമെന്ന് ചൈന പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. ചൈനയ്ക്ക് പുറമേ അമേരിക്കയും റഷ്യയും ജപ്പാനും കൃത്രിമചന്ദ്രനെ സ്ഥാപിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങള്‍ നടത്തിവരുന്നുണ്ട്.
