सात चरणों के चुनावी दंगल के 5 अध्याय पूरे हो चुके हैं... यानी अब 2 चरणों का चुनाव शेष बचा है... पांचवे दौर के लिए सोमवार को 8 राज्यों की 49 सीटों पर वोटिंग हुई... पांचवे चरण में करीब 57.40 फीसदी मतदान हुआ... जो की 2019 में हुए 62.01 फीसदी मतदान की तुलना में काफी कम रहा... हालांकि, आयोग का कहना है कि यह आंकड़े अंतिम नहीं है... जैसे-जैसे दूर-दराज स्थित पोलिंग स्टेशनों से मतदान के आंकड़े आते रहेंगे, वैसे-वैसे इस टर्नआउट में बढ़ोतरी होती रहेगी... चुनाव आयोग से मिले आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, 20 मई को आठ राज्यों की 49 लोकसभा सीटों पर हुए मतदान में सबसे फिसड्डी महाराष्ट्र, बिहार और उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य रहे... जहां सबसे कम मतदान हुआ... हर बार की तरह इस बार भी सबसे अधिक वोटिंग टर्नआउट में पश्चिम बंगाल टॉप पर रहा... इसके बाद सबसे अधिक वोटिंग होने में दूसरे नंबर पर लद्दाख और तीसरे पर झारखंड राज्य रहा... हालांकि, जम्मू-कश्मीर की बारामूला लोकसभा सीट पर इस चरण में आठ राज्यों की 49 लोकसभा सीटों की तुलना में कम मतदान हुआ... लेकिन इसके बावजूद इस सीट ने एक नया रिकॉर्ड बना दिया है... भारतीय चुनाव आयोग के मुताबिक 1989 के लोकसभा चुनाव से अब तक इस सीट पर सबसे अधिक रिकॉर्ड 54.21 फीसदी मतदान हुआ है... जो की बारामूला सीट पर 1989 से 2019 तक हुए लोकसभा चुनावों में इस बार सबसे अधिक रहा है...
