नारकोटिक्स कंट्रोल ब्यूरो (NCB) ने हाल ही में उजागर किए गए ₹2000 करोड़ के ड्रग रैकेट के सरगना जाफ़र सादिक को गिरफ्तार किया है। DMK का पूर्व पदाधिकारी जाफ़र बीते 15 दिनों से फरार था। उसे राजस्थान के जयपुर में एक होटल से गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

गौरतलब है कि फरवरी, 2024 में दिल्ली पुलिस और NCB ने एक बड़े ड्रग रैकेट का भंडाफोड़ करके दिल्ली से तीन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया था। पता चला था कि इस पूरे रैकेट का सरगना तमिलनाडु का रहने वाला जाफ़र सादिक है जो कि सत्ताधारी DMK का पदाधिकारी था।

वह एक फिल्म निर्माता भी है। सादिक की तमिलनाडु CM स्टालिन और उनके बेटे उदयानिधि के साथ तस्वीरें भी सामने आई थी। सादिक इस खुलासे के बाद से ही फरार था। एजेंसियाँ उसकी तलाश कर रही थीं। अब उसे गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है।
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Jafar Sadiq, the kingpin of the ₹2000 crore drug racket that was recently exposed. Former DMK official Jafar was absconding for the last 15 days. He has been arrested from a hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
It is noteworthy that in February 2024, Delhi Police and NCB had busted a big drug racket and arrested three people from Delhi. It was revealed that the kingpin of this entire racket was Jafar Sadiq, a resident of Tamil Nadu, who was an official of the ruling DMK.
He is also a film producer. Pictures of Sadiq with Tamil Nadu CM Stalin and his son Udayanidhi were also revealed. Sadiq was absconding since this revelation. The agencies were searching for him. Now he has been arrested.
