അടിയന്തരചികിത്സയ്ക്ക്‌ പോകുന്നവർക്ക് പ്രത്യേകമായി ക്വാട്ടയില്ല. എം.പി.മാർ, റെയിൽവേ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ എന്നിവർ ഇ.ക്യു.വിന് നിർദേശിക്കുന്നവരിൽ ഇവരും ഉൾപ്പെടുമെന്നുമാത്രം. നിലവിൽ അർബുദ രോഗികൾക്ക്‌ ചുരുക്കം ബെർത്തുകൾ സംവരണം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. മലബാർ എക്സ്പ്രസിൽ ആറും മാവേലിയിൽ എട്ടും ബെർത്തുകളാണ് അനുവദിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. ഹൃദ്രോഗികൾക്കും വൃക്കരോഗികൾക്കും പ്രത്യേക ക്വാട്ട ആവശ്യമാണ്. ഇവർക്കായി ബെർത്തുകൾ സംവരണം ചെയ്താൽ ഇ.ക്യു.വിന് കാത്തുനിൽക്കേണ്ട.
എമർജൻസി ക്വാട്ടയിൽ എം.പി.മാർ അടക്കമുള്ള വി.ഐ.പി.കൾക്കാണ് മുൻഗണന.
റെയിൽവേ അംഗീകരിച്ച ഓർഡർ ഓഫ് പ്രസിഡൻസ് പ്രകാരം 26 വിഭാഗങ്ങളിലായി മുൻഗണനാക്രമം നിശ്ചയിച്ച് ബെർത്ത് നൽകും. രാഷ്ട്രപതിയാണ് ആദ്യ പരിഗണന. 21-ാമതാണ് എം.പി.മാർ വരുന്നത്.
സ്വാധീനമുള്ളവർക്കുമാത്രം ഇ.ക്യു. ലഭിക്കുന്നതുമൂലം അടിയന്തരയാത്രക്കാർക്ക് അർഹമായത് ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് മുമ്പേ പരാതിയുണ്ട്. ഇതേത്തുടർന്നാണ് വെയ്റ്റിങ് ലിസ്റ്റിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട അടിയന്തരയാത്രക്കാരെ സഹായിക്കാൻ ദക്ഷിണ റെയിൽവേ ഇ.ക്യു. ഹെൽപ്പ് സെൽ തുടങ്ങിയത്.
ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി യാത്രചെയ്യുന്ന അർബുദരോഗികൾക്ക് സ്ലീപ്പറിലും തേർഡ് എ.സി.യിലും യാത്ര സൗജന്യമാണ്.
റിസർവേഷൻ നിരക്കായ 20 രൂപ, 45 രൂപ എന്നിവ നൽകിയാൽമതി.
