ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തന്നെ വലിയ ദേവാലയങ്ങളിലൊന്നായാണ് സോളമന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്
മിസോറാമിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ക്രിസ്തീയ ദേവാലയമായ സോളമന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിന് പ്രത്യേകതകൾ ഒരുപാടുണ്ട്. ബൈബിളിലെ വിശ്വാസമനുസരിച്ച് ജറുസലേമിലെ സോളമന്റെ ദേവാലയത്തിന്റെ തുടർച്ചയായാണ് ഇതു നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. വടക്കു കിഴക്കൻ ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മിസറാമിലെ ഐസ്വാളിലാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ദേവാലയമായ സേളമന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. മിസോറാമിലെ കൊഹ്റാൻ തിയാങ്കിലിം എന്നു പേരായ ക്രിസ്തീയ വിഭാഗക്കാരുടേതാണ് ഈ ദേവാലയം. സഭാ സ്ഥാപകനായ ഡോ. എൽ. ബി. സാലിയോയ്ക്ക് സ്വപ്നനത്തില്‍ ലഭിച്ച വെളിപ്പെടുത്തലിൽ നിന്നാണ് സോളമന്റെ ദേവാലയം എന്ന ആശയം ലഭിക്കുന്നത്. 'ദൈവം സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ സേളമന്ഡറെ ക്ഷേത്രം എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചു തന്നു. അതിനു മുൻപ് ഒരിക്കലും അങ്ങനെ ഒരു ദേവാലയത്തെപ്പറ്റി ഞാൻ ചിന്തിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. അതിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ അത് ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ കണ്ടു. എണീറ്റ ഉടനേ ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ കണ്ട ആ ക്ഷേത്രത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതി.'ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ആ സ്വപ്നത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്.
1996 ലാണ് സ്വപ്നത്തിലെ നിർദ്ദേശം അനുസരിച്ച് ദേവാലയത്തിന്റെ നിർമ്മിതിക്ക് തുടക്കം കുറിക്കുന്നത്.
96 ൽ തറക്കല്ലിട്ടെങ്കിലും 97 ലാണ് നിർമ്മാണം തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. ഏകദേശം 20 വർഷത്തോളമായിരുന്നു ഇത് പൂർത്തിയാക്കുവാനെടുത്തത്. പഴയ നിയമത്തിലെ ജറുസലേമിലെ സോളമന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നും പ്രചോദനം ഉൾക്കൊണ്ടാണ് ഇത് നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ചുറ്റോടു ചുറ്റും കാടുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന ഇവിടം അതിമനോഹരമായ ഒരു പ്രദേശം കൂടിയാണ്. മൂന്നു മില്യൺ യുഎസ് ഡോളറാണ് ഇതിന്റെ നിർമ്മാണത്തിന് ചിലവായത് എന്നാണ് കരുതുന്നത്.
മിസോറാമിലെ എന്നല്ല, ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തന്നെ വലിയ ദേവാലയങ്ങളിലൊന്നായാണ് സോളമന്റെ ക്ഷേത്രം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
ദേവാലയത്തിനുള്ളിൽ രണ്ടായിരം ആളുകൾക്കും അതിനു പുറത്ത് ഏകദേശം പതിനായിരത്തോളം ആളുകൾക്കും ഇരിക്കാവുന്ന രീതിയിലുള്ള നിർമ്മാണമാണ് ഇതിന്റേത്. സോളമൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൻറെ പോർച്ച് എന്നാണ് മുറ്റം ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ദേവാലയത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗം അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്.
നാലുദിക്കുകളിലായി ഒന്നിന് മൂന്ന് വാതിലുകൾ എന്ന നിലയിൽ 12 കവാടങ്ങളാണ് ഈ ദേവാലയത്തിനുള്ളത്. അതു കൂടാതെ നാലു പ്രധാന ദിശക
