The legacy of a legend. We're just a few hours away from the public tribute to country icon George Jones. Wednesday night a private memorial was held for those who knew the Possum best. We have heard several people say that they've been to many celebrity funerals, and that they have never seen an outpouring of love like this from the country music world. Nancy Jones and her family were the first to arrive at Woodlawn Funeral Home around 4pm. Shortly after, hundreds of friends, relatives and celebrities from all generations came by to pay their respects to Nancy, George's daughters and grandchildren. More than a legend, each says they lost a dear friend.I was thinking the other day about the song he had out called 'Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes', says Brenda Lee. That's never more poignant than right now.He was just so loved by all of us, he did so much for everyone he knew, says Barbara Mandrell. He was that special friend, even if you didn't ask he was going to be there for you.It seems so untimely, says William Lee Golden.
