Orlando Shaw, 33, could be headed to prison if he is unable to pay child support, according to a Nashville court. For years, the state of Tennessee has paid more than $7,000 per month to care for his children, according to a local report.
Meet America's biggest deadbeat dad.
A Tennessee man who has fathered a whopping 22 children by 14 different women has been pulled into court for unpaid child support.
Orlando Shaw, 33, of Nashville, told local News Channel 5 he'd lost count of how many kids he had by how many mothers – he mused he'd fathered 'roughly' 18 kids with 17 women – but there was no way he'd ever be able to support them.
'To be honest with you, don't nothing come to a dreamer … I go everywhere looking for a job, where am I going to get one with my lengthy record?' Shaw told the station, referring to a criminal record that has made it hard for him to land work.
'I'm just hoping one day I'll get lucky and might scratch off the numbers or something. I play the hell out of the Tennessee lottery,' he said.
'They're my kids, I love my kids and I could (not) care less what anybody else thinks about it,' he added.
With the help of the state's child support services, Shaw's exes sued him for years of unpaid child support, the station reported.
So far, the state has been covering his tab, amounting to more than $7,0.
