ഗാന്ധി ജയന്തി ദിനമായ ഒക്ടോബർ രണ്ട് മുതൽ കേന്ദ്രസർക്കാരിനെതിരെ സമരം തുടങ്ങുമെന്നു ഹസാരെ പറഞ്ഞു. അഴിമതി വിമുക്ത രാഷ്ട്രത്തിനു വേണ്ടി ജനങ്ങള്‍ തന്റെ കൂടെ നിൽക്കണമെന്നും ഹസാരെ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.അണ്ണാ ഹസാരെയുടെ ജന്മനാടായ മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര അഹ്മദ് നഗറിലെ റലേഗൻ സിദ്ധി ഗ്രാമത്തിലായിരിക്കും സമരം. ലോക്പാൽ ബിൽ നടപ്പാക്കുമെന്നും ലോക്പാൽ നിയമനങ്ങൾ നടത്തുമെന്നും പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചിട്ടും യാതൊന്നും നടപ്പാക്കാത്ത എൻഡിഎ സർക്കാരിനെ ഹസാരെ വിമർശിച്ചു. അഴിമതി ഇല്ലാതാക്കുന്നതിന് ഈ സർക്കാരിന് ആർജ്ജവം ഇല്ല. ലോക്പാൽ നിയമനം വൈകിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനു ഒട്ടേറെ കാരണങ്ങളാണു സർക്കാർ ഉയർത്തുന്നത്– ഹസാരെ പറഞ്ഞു.
ലോക്പാലിനു വേണ്ടി 2011ൽ 12 ദിവസം നിരാഹാസ സത്യഗ്രഹം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിരുന്നു ഹസാരെ. ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പോരാട്ടം പിന്നീട് ദേശീയ ശ്രദ്ധ നേടുകയും യുപിഎ സർക്കാർ 2013ൽ ലോക്പാൽ നിയമനം അംഗീകരിച്ചു നിയമം പാസാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
ലോക്പാലിൽ ബിജെപി സർക്കാർ കാണിക്കുന്ന മെല്ലെപ്പോക്ക് നയത്തെ കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം സുപ്രീംകോടതിയും വിമർശിച്ചിരുന്നു.
