Jiah khan died attempting suicide
Bollywood actress Jiah Khan committed suicide at her Juhu residence on Monday night.
The 25-year-old actor is learnt to have hung herself inside the house.
Jiah was brought up in England and had shifted to Mumbai with her mother Rabiya recently.
'She had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. She was also meeting filmmakers regarding projects,' sources close to the actress said.
Also known by the name Nafisa Khan, the actress made her Hindi film debut in 2007 opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the controversial Nishabd. She also acted opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Akshay Kumar in Housefull.
Police sources said that the incident happened at about 11pm and no suicide note was found. The body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem.
Tanuj Garg of Balaji telefilms and friend of Jiah said, 'We knew each other socially and often discussed our London connection. She was a soft-spoken, sweet and a pleasant individual. Truly shocked at the news!'
Amitabh Bachchan, who heard of the news online tweeted, '-WHAT ...!!! Jiah Khan ??? what has happened ? is this correct ? unbelievable !!!'

Bollywood actor Jiah Khan has committed suicide, police in Mumbai said. The 25-year old actor reportedly hanged herself at her Juhu residence late Monday night.
According to the police, her domestic help, watchman and neighbours are being questioned to find out about her last visitors.
Jiah made her acting debut in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The film released in March 2007 and received mixed reviews, but Jiah was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal. She also got a Filmfare Best Debutant Nomination.
She then appeared alongside Aamir Khan in AR Murugadoss's 'Ghajini', the Hindi remake of the director's own Tamil film of the same name.
Her last film was Sajid Khan's 'Housefull' in 2010 with Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Riteish Deshmukh and Lara Dutta.

Calling her “full of life” and “high-spirited”, Bollywood celebrities expressed their grief and shock over the death of actor Jiah Khan.
Jiah (25) whose real name is Nafisa Khan, was found hanging at her residence at around 11 pm last night.
“What!!! Jiah Khan ??? what has happened? is this correct ? unbelievable !!!,” tweeted a shocked Amitabh Bachchan.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma called Jiah a girl with “spunk and spirit.”
“…Never ever seen a debutante actress with more spunk and more spirit than Jiah when I was directing her in Nishabd. The whole unit of Nishabd was literally in love with Jiah.
“No matter what her problem was I just so wish she applied her on-screen philosophy of Nishabd to her own life. Shocked and choked to hear about Jiah,” Varma tweeted.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh, who worked with Jia in Housefull, said, “Nothing worse than waking up to a bad news — shocked n dumb struck— RIP Jiah. She was full of life and had incredible sense of humour. She was a friend n will miss her. Am deeply saddened.”
“Jiah Khan was full of life when I worked with her long time back. So sad that something drove her to take this extreme step. RIP,” tweeted Anupam Kher who had also worked with the actress.
Actor Shahid Kapoor, said, “Shocked and saddened to hear about Jiah Khan... Very disturbing. RIP... May her soul rest in peace.”
