Amateur video capturing Asiana plane crash goes viral

The crash of Flight 214 was captured on video by a man who was out for a walk less than two kilometers away.
The video, which has since gone viral on the internet, shows the exact moment the jet slammed into the runway.
Park Ji-won has more. The upper-right corner of the video shows the airplane in flight. as it attempts to land at the airport.
This is Asiana Airlines flight 214 on its approach to the San Francisco airport,. but as you can see, it was flying so low that the tail hit the sea wall.

'Oh my God, oh it's an accident.'

Soon afterward, the plane slides down the runway.
As it slides down the runway,. the front of the plane pops up for a second, then crashes back into the runway,. engulfed in flames.

The video was filmed by Fred Hayes,. who was out for a walk about 1-point-6 kilometers from the bay.
He said,. the airplane seemed like it was flying too low on its approach to the runway. and the angle of the plane as it was touching down didn't look right.
This video is expected to be an important source of information as investigators determine the cause of the accident..

    An Asiana Airlines flight from Seoul, South Korea, crashed while landing at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday, forcing passengers to jump down the emergency inflatable slides to safety. It was not immediately known whether there were any injuries.

    Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Laura Brown said Flight 214 crashed while landing at 11:26 PDT. A video clip posted to YouTube showed smoke coming from a jet on the tarmac. Passengers could be seen jumping down the emergency slides.

    Television footage showed the top of the fuselage was burned away and the entire tail was gone. One engine appeared to have broken away. Pieces of the tail were strewn about the runway. Emergency responders could be seen walking inside the burned-out wreckage.

    Stephanie Turner saw the plane going down and the rescue slides deploy, but returned to her hotel room before seeing any passengers get off the jet, she told ABC News. Turner said when she first saw the flight she noticed right away that the angle of its approach seemed strange.

    'It didn't manage to straighten out before hitting the runway,' she said. 'So the tail of the plane hit the runway, and it cartwheeled and spun and the tail broke off ... I mean we were sure that we had just seen a lot of people die. It was awful.
