That on 30.09.2021 at around 23.40 hrs on receipt of specific and reliable information about a fake call center net up at Amara Hotel, Gaurawado Calangute Bardez Goa wherein personal details of citizens of United States of America were received through illegal means by using computers resource and Virtual Private Network (VPN), the above accused persons with their common intention to cheat citizens of United States of America, contacted them through interactive voice response system by impersonating as officials of Social Security Administration department/ Law Enforcement Authority of United States of America and convincing the victims that they have done illegal acts like fraud, illegal drugs peddling, defaulter for paying tax and to settle the illegal acts with the US Govt. victims were asked to pay money in the form of electronic payment mode i.e Gift card, Target Card, Google Pay into electronic currency i.e. Paxful App/ Bit Coin / Crypto Wallet and thereby withdrawing the money in Indian Currency at Ahmadabad Gujarat thus cheating the citizens of United States.
Under the able guidance of SP North, Shri Shobhit Saxena, Calangute Police Team led by PI Nolasco Raposo consisting of PSI Navin Desai, Head Constable Devidas Haldankar, Vinod Naik, Vinay Srivastav, PC's Bhagwan Palyekar, Laximan Patekar, Dinesh Morajkar, Shashank Salchalkar, Suresh Naik, Rupesh Salgaonkar, Pravin Chodankar, LPC Rajani Kharvat and PC Driver Sunil Mhalsekar and Sarvesh Tuyekar conducted a raid and following persons were found operating the said fake call centre namely 1) Mausam Kumar S/o Hasmukhbhai Patel, age-31 years, native of Gujrat, 2) Jay Ruparel age-26 years, native of Gujrat, 3) Jacky Samani age-23 years, native of Thane, Maharashtra, 4) Arindam Lagachu age-19 years, native of Papum Pare, Arunanchal Pradesh, 5) Milon Hussain age-23 years, native of Khani Hills, Meghalaya, 6) Ms Techina Marak age-22 years, native of Shillong, Meghalaya and 7) Ms. Sweta Raikwar age-19 year.
