Shahrukh Khan put up a big-hitting exhibition in the finals of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021-22, and took Tamil Nadu to their second successive title. The game went right down to the wire as Tamil Nadu’s chase of 152 wasn’t smooth by any means. In fact, Karnataka seemed on command for the best part of the game. However, Shahrukh showcased his blitzes and dented Karnataka’s plan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

He slammed an unbeaten 33 of 15 deliveries, taking his side to a four-wicket triumph. Notably, he smashed a staggering six when five runs were needed of the very last delivery. This speaks volumes of his prowess. Needless to mention, Twitterverse went wild as Shahrukh Khan finished it off in style. Speaking of his ability of thrive in death overs, Shahrukh recalled a piece of advice from MS Dhoni which he received during the IPL.

“He gave me a clear picture of the finisher’s role and asked me to believe whatever you are doing on that particular day is right, because you are the best judge and only you know what is running inside your mind when chasing,” Shahrukh was quoted.

“And also I have accepted that the finisher’s role is a bit dicey. When you do well, you are on top and if you fail, you get to cop the blame,” the 26-year-old added. With Dhoni arguably being one of the greatest finishers ever, Shahrukh couldn’t have got a better person to talk about thriving in death overs.

Team India opening batter KL Rahul has sustained a muscle strain on his left thigh and has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand. He will now undergo rehabilitation at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in preparation for the series against South Africa scheduled next month.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Suryakumar Yadav as KL Rahul’s replacement. The first Test between India and New Zealand begins on 25th November 2021 in Kanpur. The second Test will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumb.
