    The campus of the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul was attacked this morning by suspected militants. Reports have at least one person being killed in the attack and 25 more wounded, according to Fox News. Many injuries occurred from students jumping from the 2nd floor to avoid the gunfire. Although the university has security measures with armed guards and watch towers, students reported hearing a car bomb outside the main gate allegedly before several gunmen entered the campus, as reported by Reuters. The attack has not been claimed by a specific group but the area includes the Afghan Taliban and a local offshoot of the Islamic State. Officials worked for hours to rescue teachers and students huddled in classrooms and safe rooms while also sweeping the campus to track down the terrorists involved. Authorities are calling the attack quote “complex” and are not sure of the exact amount of gunmen. This is the second incident involving the university as earlier this month two professors were kidnapped at gunpoint, an American and an Australian, and their whereabouts are still unknown.
