West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle seemingly signaled that he has retired from international cricket after he was dismissed for 15 runs against Australia on 6th November 2021. The big-hitting left-hander walked off to an ovation from his teammates and even raised his bat to the crowd as well.

And now, Gayle has revealed that he was having some fun and he is semi-retired. However, the 42-year-old confirmed that he has played his last World Cup match for the West Indies side. Gayle also added that he would like to play one more World Cup for the West Indies side, but will not be allowed to do so.

The automatic qualifiers for the Super 12 of the T20 World Cup 2022 have been confirmed after West Indies lost to Australia by eight wickets on Saturday, November 6, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Eight teams- India, Australia, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan and Bangladesh- have made the cut for the Super 12 of the mega event next year.
