New Zealand’s new recruit Kyle Jamieson hogged the limelight first for his height. The 6’8″ tall pacer is one of the tallest in world cricket at the moment. On the back of some brilliant domestic performances, Jamieson earned a maiden call-up to the ODI team for the India series at home in January 2020.

On his debut, he won the Man of the Match for his all-round performance which helped the BlackCaps win the game. However, there is still a long way to go for him and the 25-year-old will be keen to make the most of the chances he gets to represent his country.

Although Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson were there at the crease to hit the winning runs in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final against India, it was Kyle Jamieson who had the bigger impact in the game by picking up seven wickets across both innings. Fittingly, he was also named the player of the match. Impressed by the lanky pacer in the marquee clash, Sachin Tendulkar lavished praise on the pacer’s ability with the ball and bat in hand.

In his short career so far, Jamieson has picked a staggering 46 Test wickets at a scarcely believable average of 14.17 in just eight Tests. Apart from his bowling, Jamieson is also a handy lower-order batter.
