“Government e-Marketplace” (GeM) – set up as the National Public Procurement Portal in 2016, has played an imminent role, during this challenging time in keeping the momentum of public procurement machinery by providing a unified, transparent, efficient and accountable public procurement system.

Further as per Rule 149 of the GFR-2017, Government has made procurement of Goods and Services by Ministries/ Departments of Central and state Governments mandatory through GeM platform. Envisaged by the Government of India, under the aegis of Digital India Mission, GeM strives to keep pace with the ever-evolving technological challenges and stakeholder aspirations.

GeM has now introduced GeM 4.0, a more robust, flexible e-marketplace with an intuitive User Interface (UI) to make procurement simpler than ever.

CII is happy to inform you that in order to further strengthen the engagement and participation of industry in GeM platform, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with GeM is organizing the 5th Edition of National Public Procurement Conclave (NPPC) 2021 - A digital exhibition and conference “Driving technology enabled government procurement -towards efficiency, transparency, and inclusiveness” on anniversary of GeM Establishment Day on 9 August 2021 at 10 am through CII Hive Digital Platform.
