The 22-year-old pacer, who can clock up high speeds and frustrate batsmen with his lines, has been in the limelight ever since he returned home winning the U19 World Cup for India in 2018. He was one of the star bowlers in that team as well. CricTracker interviewed the fast bowler as he talked about his journey so far, coming from a small town outside Kolkata to becoming Bengal’s brightest young talent and a lot more.

The story of being rags to riches fits perfectly in the case of English pacer Tymal Mills. The cricketer hailed from a below poverty brackets but an IPL contract of Rs 12 crores from the IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore made him a millionaire overnight. Just before the IPL auctions for the 2017 edition, England toured India for a three-match T20I series.
Mills was the story of the T20I series as he managed to attract the attention of the cricket fraternity with his economical bowling and variations including the knuckleball and a unique back-of-the-hand slower delivery. The same resulted in RCB paying an astonishing amount of INR 12 crore for the pacer.
However, during the league, the 28-year-old failed to justify his hefty paycheck. Due to his injury, Mills could feature in only 5 matches in which he took 5 wickets at an economy rate of 8.57.

Karun Nair made his international debut through an ODI series against Zimbabwe in 2016. In the same year, he made his Test debut against England at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. It was in the same series when he became the second Indian after Virender Sehwag to smash a triple century in Test cricket.
It was a dream start to his career at the highest level and he was destined to get better. However, after India’s next Test series against the Aussies where he couldn’t score too many runs, he was left out of the national reckoning.
Four years down the line, the Rajasthan-born has plied his trade for various IPL franchises. In the 2020 IPL, the right-hander managed 16 runs at an average of eight. The 29-year-old played in the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he failed in the first four games.
You can either call Karun Nair a one-match wonder or wasted potential depending on which side of the table you are. Karun Nair, a great performer in Ranji Trophy, was picked for India in 2016 for the Zimbabwe tour and made his ODI debut there. However, he announced his arrival in style when he wore the whites for the first time. In his first Test series, he became just the second batsman after Sehwag to score a triple century for India.
He was in the fast lane of success after scoring the triple century but the stoppage came fast and sudden as India under Kohli played with only 5 batsmen while at home and his direct competition was with the vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. A series of low scores against the mighty Australians didn’t help either. He was dropped from the eleven and later from the squad as well when white ball vice-captain Rohit Sharma was preferred over him.

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal believes that his life has changed in a good way after becoming a part of IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chahal had started his IPL career in 2011 with Mumbai Indians. However, the leg-spinner didn’t get many opportunities to showcase his talent. As a result, he joined the Bangalore franchise in the 2014 session and has been a vital part of the team since then.
Chahal is widely regarded as one of the top spinners of the world. Having made his international debut for India in 2016, he has become an important part of India’s bowling line-up. The right-arm bowler has represented India in 52 One-day Internationals and 42 T20 matches till now taking 91 and 55 scalps respectively at an economy of 5.07 and 8.18. He has also taken 100 wickets in 83 matches played for RCB.
It was not at all surprising to see Yuzvendra Chahal getting selected for India’s tour of Zimbabwe . He has been doing well in the past couple of seasons, especially in the Indian Premier League. The nippy leg-spinner who was a chess player before switching to cricket as a teenager has had a quite interesting career as a sportsman. He currently plays for Haryana in the domestic circuit and performing extremely with Royal Challengers Bangalore this season and soon become an important part of Team India.
