Another day and another win for Team India! The Men in Blue have now played eight T20Is following their early exit in the T20 World Cup last year and emereged winners every single time. As India thrashed Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second T20I, the Men in Blue also seal the three-match series 2-0. Although the visitors did put up a great fight in Dharamsala, Rohit Sharma’s team won pretty comfortably at the end.
Having recorded a clear and comfortable win in the first match, Indian skipper Rohit won the toss and fielded the same playing XI again. Though Sri Lanka started extremely slow, their opening pair of Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka picked the pace later and shared a fifty partnership. Indian bowlers tried to pull things back, taking four quick wickets. However, they couldn’t get the rid of Pathum Nissanka, who was on a roll. Settled Nissanka then shared a 58-run partnership with skipper Dasun Shanaka in just 20 balls, as Sri Lanka get to 183/5.
Coming to the chase, India lost their captain Rohit in the first over and Ishan Kishan couldn’t do much either. At this stage, the target looked mountainous. However, a brilliant knock of 74* in just 44 balls from Shreyas Iyer, with great support from Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja helped India chase the target down. Not just they could chased the total that looked tough at one stage, but they crossed the line with nearly three overs to spare. Sri Lankan bowlers, who were brilliant in the initial overs, lost the momentum later, and India took full use of it.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has hailed Sanju Samson‘s performance in the second T20I played against Sri Lanka on February 26. Chasing 184 in their allotted 20 overs, men in blue lost both their openers in form of skipper Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan inside the powerplay. However, a partnership between Samson and Shreyas Iyer ensured that India bounced back after the early setbacks.

The Indian team clinched the three-match T20I series after a comprehensive victory in the second T20I at Dambulla. The Sri Lankan team once again faltered with the bat as they put a modest total of 125 runs on the board after winning the toss and electing to bat first. India chased the total down with five wickets in hand.
India on the back of Smriti Mandhana’s 39 and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 31, eased past the target with five wickets and five deliveries to spare. The visitors made a great start to the chase thanks to blistering cameos from Shefali Verma (17 off 10) and Sabbhineni Meghana (17 off 10), in the powerplay. The Indian innings wobbled after the departure of Mandhana, but Harmanpreet made sure she stayed at the crease to avert any mishaps and saw her side through to the finish line.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will be disappointed with their batting performance as they were provided a solid platform by the opening pair of Vishmi Gunaratne and Chamari Athapaththu, but the islanders failed to capitalize on the 87-run opening stand and succumbed to an underwhelming score of 125. The batting collapse saw them lose seven wickets for just 33 runs. Both teams will look to finish the series on a winning note as they must have their eyes set on the three-match ODI series beginning from July 1.
Pitch and conditions
The surface at the Rangiri Dambulla was expected to assist the spinners, and it did that. However, the pitch wasn’t that tough to bat on, as some of the players from the Indian camp showed. It will be the third consecutive match to be played here, and there won’t be much change in the surface. Teams will look to bat first and put a decent total on the board for the opposition to chase.

Sri Lanka vs Australia - 3rd T20I Match, Predicted Playing XIs & Stats Preview
Sports video | 261 views
After a thumping win against West Indies in the limited-overs series, India will be facing another challenge from their neighboring nation Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series starting from the 24th of February. India has opted to rest big guns like Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant for the T20I series and they will be back for the longer format. Sanju Samson has earned a recall into the side as a backup wicketkeeping option for Ishan Kishan and the series is expected to be a big opportunity for the youngsters.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is coming off a 1-4 loss in Australia and they managed to string some positives together towards the end of the series. Pathum Nissanka had an excellent series with the bat while Lahiru Kumara with his pace was very much impressive. They will miss the services of their match-winner Wanindu Hasaranga due to Covid-19 as he can turn around games with both bat and ball. The previous series between these two sides ended in the favour of Sri Lanka last year.
The wicket has been suitable to fast bowling so far and both teams will be looking to stack their bowling department with pace. Batting first has produced better results on the wicket and the captain winning the toss might be tempted to put a score on the board despite the dew factor coming in.

After defeating Sri Lanka convincingly in the first T20I by 62 runs in Lucknow, the in-form team India faces the Lankan Lions in the second match of the series on February 26th, 2022, at the scenic HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The new all-format skipper Rohit Sharma has led the team brilliantly as the team has now won seven consecutive T20Is under his leadership since his tenure started from the New Zealand series in November 2021. Overall, the Asian giants have won ten matches on the bounce with their last defeat coming against the Kiwis in the T20 World Cup 2021.
In the first match of the ongoing series, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan stole the limelight with his 56-balls 89 runs knock and won the Player of the Match award as well. The tourists already suffered a huge blow before the start of the series with their star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga being ruled out of the matches due to Covid-19. Sri Lanka will also be without Maheesh Theekshana and Kusal Mendis for the rest of the series as the duo, who missed the first T20I, won’t take part in the remaining matches too due to respective injuries.
Keeping that in mind, Sri Lanka has added Niroshan Dickwella and Dhananjaya de Silva to the T20I squad. Dasun Shanaka and his side will look to put up a better show than the first T20I and win the second T20I to keep the series alive at picturesque Dharamshala stadium. Rohit Sharma, who as a skipper is joint-top with Eoin Morgan and Kane Williamson for 15 T20I wins at home would hope to surpass them as his side looks to dominate by winning consistently especially with this being a T20 World Cup year.
After a convincing win for India in the first T20I against Sri Lanka in Lucknow, the action now shifts to Dharamshala for an important game as the visitors have to win to stay in the contest. India clicked in most of the areas in the first game and the one department they will look to work upon would be catching and fielding. Ishan Kishan‘s 89 was a

India are currently 1-0 up in the three-match T20I series.
The Indian women’s team started their tour of Sri Lanka on a winning note as they won the opening T20I by 34 runs. The Indian side led by Harmanpreet Kaur would like to emulate to same performance in the second T20I on Saturday, June 25th in Dambulla. Although the Indian contingent will be pleased by their efforts in the series opener, they will like to improve their batting performance. Sri Lanka did well to restrict visitors to a total of 138 runs in their 20 overs but were let down by their batters. The hosts will look for a better outing in the second T20I, which is a do-or-die game for them.
Pitch Report
The surface in Dambulla is not easy to bat on as it is more suitable for slower bowlers. Although the visitors were able to post a decent total in the first T20I, it wasn’t forthcoming until a late onslaught by their batters. Batting will get tougher as the match progresses, and the team winning the toss will ideally look to bat first. The spinners will play a vital role in the crucial clash.

Sri Lanka vs Australia - 2nd T20I Match, Predicted Playing XIs & Stats Preview
Sports video | 308 views
The Indian team has followed their T20I series win against Sri Lanka by clinching the ODI series with clinical performances in the first two games. With a 10-wicket triumph in the second ODI, India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. They will be eyeing a whitewash with a third successive victory on July 7 (Thursday) at Pallekele.
In the second game, Renuka Singh was at the peak of her prowess for the Indian team, sending both the Sri Lankan openers back to the pavilion cheaply. The Indian pacer returned with figures of 4/28 as she annihilated the Sri Lankan batting lineup. Renuka was awarded the Player of the Match award for her efforts with the ball, which saw Sri Lanka restricted to 173 runs in their 50 overs.
The Indian batters, who had stumbled in their chase in the first ODI, were in no mood to make the same mistake again as the opening pair of Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana were ruthless against the Sri Lankan bowlers. Both the openers registered their respective half-centuries in a monumental 174-run opening stand that saw India crush Sri Lanka by ten wickets.
Meanwhile, it’s been the same old story for the hosts, who failed to put a decent total on the board once again. But it was the struggle of the Sri Lankan bowlers that caught the eye in the second ODI as they didn’t even manage to lay a glove on the opposition batters.
India were the favourites heading into the series given their superior record against Sri Lanka, and a whitewash against the hosts will boost their morale heading into the Commonwealth Games, which will provide much more of a challenge to Harmanpreet Kaur’s side.
Pitch and conditions
Often labeled as a spinner’s paradise, Pallekele has rolled out more of an even surface in the last couple of games. The pacers enjoyed bowling at the venue and got rewarded for their probing line and lengths. The team winning the toss might opt to bowl first, as chasing team

Team Sri Lanka managed to defeat the visitors Australia during the second ODI match of the series. An all-round performance from Chamika Karunaratne ensured that the home side won the second contest by a margin of 26 runs. Mighty Australia collapsed under pressure as they lost their last five wickets for just 19 runs and were bowled out for 189 runs.
Both teams will now take on each other during the third match of the series to be played at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on June 19 (Sunday). The visitors will have to think about some plan to counter the spin bowling attack of the home team as they continue to give away their wickets while not being able to score freely against them.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, are also facing problems in the batting department. Despite getting some decent starts, none of the Sri Lanka batters managed to score big runs in the second ODI. The home team will want to put on a better batting display in the third match of the series.
Pitch Conditions
A fresh pitch at R Premadasa Stadium awaits both teams. Team Australia might be benefitted from this as the fresh strip might not offer much turn to the spinners. However, the rain and thunderstorms could play a spoilsport in the third ODI. The skipper winning the toss might want to bowl first and chase the target later on.
