A large number of National Health Mission (NHM) employees from all over the State under the banner of All J&K NHM Employees Association today held a peaceful protest here at Exhibition Ground demanding regularisation of their services.
National Health Mission (NHM) employees today highlighted their demands.
Rohit Seth, provincial president of All JK NHM Employees Association and senior leader of State Government Employees' Joint Action Committee, Subash Verma, said that NHM staff is being ignored for many years by the Health Department and despite approaching to all the concerned higher officers time to time for the redressal of the genuine demands of the employees, the authority concerned has not responded. He said that their demands are that all the employees who have completed 5 years of service must be brought on permanent establishment and the rest of the staff be given equal salary at par with permanent employees in reference to the supreme court's verdict i.e. equal pay for equal work till their regularisation. He also said that the minimum 10% increment should be given to all the NHM staff yearly, transfer policy should be framed for them and the benefit of facilities like provident fund, maternity leave, baby care leave, medical leave, earned leave, medical Insurance, life insurance, etc. should also be given to them.

सोलन के क्षेत्रीय अस्पताल में आज तीसरे दिन भी एनएचएम अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों का रोष प्रदर्शन जारी रहा। वह पिछले तीन दिनों से काले बिल्ले लगाकर सरकार की नीतियों के खिलाफ मोर्चा खोले हुए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि वह पिछले 25 वर्षों से एनएचएम में सेवाएं दे रहे हैं वह इस आस में थे कि सरकार उनके कार्य को सराहेगी और उनकी सहनशीलता को देखते हुए उन्हें पक्का करेगी। लेकिन प्रदेश सरकार अपनी नींद से नहीं जागी मजबूरन उन्हें अब संघर्ष का रास्ता अपनाना पड़ा। अब उन्हें आस है कि सरकार उनकी और ध्यान देने में बाध्य होगी। क्योंकि शायद सरकार संघर्ष के बाद ही कर्मचारियों की कोई सुनवाई करती है।
