ട്രെയിനില്‍ വച്ച് സ്ത്രീകളെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് ശിക്ഷ കടുപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുന്നു. ഇതുസംബന്ധിച്ച ശുപാര്‍ശ റെയില്‍വേ സംരക്ഷണ സേന(ആര്‍.പി.എഫ്) അംഗീകാരത്തിനായി സമര്‍പ്പിച്ചു. മൂന്നുവര്‍ഷം തടവ് ശിക്ഷ ലഭിക്കാനുള്ള വഴിയാണ് റെയില്‍വേ നോക്കുന്നത് .സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കെതിരായ അതിക്രമങ്ങള്‍ നടത്തുന്നവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ നടപടി സ്വീകരിക്കാനുള്ള അനുമതിയും വേണമെന്നാണ് ആര്‍പിഎഫ് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഇതിനായി നിലവിലെ റെയില്‍വേ നിയമത്തില്‍ ഭേദഗതി വരുത്തണമെന്നാണ് ആര്‍.പി.എഫ് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത്.നിലവില്‍ ട്രെയിനില്‍ സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കെതിരെയുള്ള അക്രമങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ശിക്ഷാ നിയമം ( ഐപിസി) പ്രകാരമാണ് ശിക്ഷ നല്‍കുന്നത്. ഒരുവര്‍ഷം മാത്രമാണ് ഇത്തത്തില്‍ പരമാവധി ശിക്ഷയായി അക്രമിക്ക് ലഭിക്കുക. ട്രെയിനിനുള്ളില്‍ വെച്ച് സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കെതിരായ അതിക്രമങ്ങള്‍ വര്‍ധിക്കുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് ശുപാര്‍ശ.ശുപാര്‍ശ അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ റെയില്‍വേ പോലീസിന്റെ സഹായമില്ലാതെ തന്നെ പ്രതികള്‍ക്കെതിരെ നടപടിയെടുക്കാന്‍ ആര്‍.പി.എഫിന് സാധിക്കും. ഉണ്ടായാല്‍ റെയില്‍വേ പോലീസിന്റെ സഹായം തേടുക മാത്രമാണ് ആര്‍പിഎഫിന് മുന്നിലുള്ള മാര്‍ഗം. ഇത്തരം വിഷയങ്ങള്‍ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യാന്‍ ആര്‍.പി.എഫിന് അധികാരമില്ല.
സ്ത്രീകളുടെ കമ്പാര്‍ട്ടുമെന്റില്‍ യാത്രചെയ്യുന്ന പുരുഷന്‍മാരില്‍ നിന്ന് ഈടാക്കുന്ന പിഴ 500 രൂപയില്‍ നിന്ന് 1000 ആക്കി ഉയര്‍ത്തണമെന്ന ആവശ്യവും ആര്‍പിഎഫ് മുന്നോട്ടുവെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. മാത്രമല്ല ഇ-ടിക്കറ്റിങ്ങില്‍ തട്ടിപ്പു നടത്തുന്നവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ രണ്ടു ലക്ഷം രൂപ പിഴയും മൂന്ന് വര്‍ഷം ജയില്‍ ശിക്ഷയും വേണമെന്നും പുതിയ ഭേദഗതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ആര്‍.പി.എഫ് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
