The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Karnataka government to release 15 thousand cusecs of Cauvery water per day to Tamil Nadu for the next 10 days to make sure the samba crops in Tamil Nadu survive. Karnataka had offered to release 10,000 cusecs every day while demanding 20,000 cusecs for itself. The supervisory committee has been asked to pass orders on Tamil Nadu's plea in 10 days. The court posted the matter for further hearing on September 16. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister has convened an all party meet to discuss Cauvery Issue.

कावेरी मुद्दे को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आज अहम सुनवाई हुई...इस दौरान कोर्ट ने कर्नाटक को आदेश दिया है कि वह तीन दिन तक रोज 6000 क्यूसिक पानी तमिलनाडु को दे...साथ ही कोर्ट ने केंद्र को निर्देश दिया है कि वह दोनों राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों के बीच बातचीत कराए. ये मामला दो राज्यों के बीच की दिक्कत का है. इसे केंद्र, संघीय तरीके से सुलझाए...साथ ही दोनों राज्यों से कहा है कि वे केंद्र सरकार का सहयोग करें... वही अब इस मामले में अगली सुनवाई शुक्रवार को होगी...इससे पहले कल तमिलनाडु और कर्नाटक सरकार ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में अर्जी डाली थी. कर्नाटक सरकार ने कोर्ट के आदेश में राहत मांगी तो वहीं तमिलनाडु ने इसका विरोध किया था. कर्नाटक सरकार ने कल कोर्ट में कहा था कि वह अपने उस आदेश में संशोधन करें, जिसमें कोर्ट ने कर्नाटक सरकार को 6000 क्यूसेक पानी प्रतिदिन 27 सितंबर तक तमिलनाडु को देने का आदेश दिया था.साथ ही कर्नाटक सरकार ने कहा था कि वह इस स्थति में नहीं है कि तमिलनाडु को पानी दे सके

Complying with the Supreme Court direction, Karnataka government released Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu and will continue to do so for the next ten days.
After an all party meeting, chief minister Siddaramaia said that the govt has decided to abide by Supreme court ruling, however the state would also approach the apex Court with a modification petition explaining its difficulties in implementing the court order, directing release of 15,000 cusecs per day to Tamil Nadu for next ten days.

As the Cauvery water dispute heats up, acts of violence are being reported in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Naam Tamilar Katchi party workers in Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu vandalised a bus from Karnataka and threatened its driver. A Kannadiga eatery was attacked with petrol bombs in Chennai’s Royapettah on Monday. Miscreants hurled crude petrol bombs damaging the glass doors of New Woodlands Hotel.
The attack comes day after a video showing a Tamil Nadu youth being assaulted by a group in Karnataka went viral on social media.
Incidents of violence have been reported in Karnataka as well.
Protests over Supreme Court’s order to release 12,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu were witnessed in Karnataka.
Supreme Court, in its new judgement, has asked people not to take law into their hands.
According to reports, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah will write to Jayalalithaa after attacks on hotel and buses linked to Cauvery row.

Supreme Court on Tuesday has directed Karnataka to release 6000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu daily from Wednesday till September 27 which happens to be the next date of hearing. The apex court had on September 5 had ordered 15,000 cusecs daily for ten days. Later modified its order, the court had asked Karnataka to release 12,000 cusecs till September 20. Soon after the development, sporadic protests were reported from different places, especially in Mandya district, the epicentre of the Cauvery agitation, where protesters blocked the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.
