Kenlong (Himachal Pradesh): Rare Himalayan musk deer have been seen in the Lahul Valley of the tribal district Lahaul-Spiti. Photographs and video of Kasturi deer have been captured by photographer Indra Jeet Bhanu of Rachel village in his camera. According to Indrajit Bhanu, Himalayan musk deer have been seen in many parts of Lahul, especially on the left bank of Chandrabhaga. Earlier in March 2018, musk deer were seen in the Mayad valley of Lahul. The Himalayan sero was seen in Hurlig village of Spiti the day before and now the wildlife department is also very excited with the sighting of musk deer in Lahul. Musk deer are among the rare species endangered. It is found in the Himalayan region at an altitude of more than 2500 meters. These rare creatures are found in India, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and some areas of Afghanistan. In India, this wildlife is found in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Its body color varies, the lower part of the abdomen and waist is almost white and the rest of the body is brown brown. Its ears are long and rounded. Its hearing power is very fast. It weighs from 7 to 17 kg.
