In this, Penpa Tsearing leads with 24,488 votes. Kelsang Dorje Aukatatsang has got 14,544 votes in second place. While Gerry Dolma has got 13,363 votes at number three. Similarly, Dongchung Nagodup finished fourth with 10,200 votes. it seems that the final contest will be between former parliament speaker Pempa Sering and former representative of Tibetan religious Guru The Dalai Lama Kelsang Dorje Okatatsang. The preliminary election results were announced today by the Chief Election Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Macleodganj (Himachal Pradesh) : The first phase voting of general election for Sikyong (President) and members of the 17th Tibetan Parliament begins today.
Over 80 thousand Tibetan have registered themselves for the polling. This time there is also an increase in the number of contesting candidates. Eight persons are contesting for sikyong Post whereas over 150 candidates are contesting for MP. There are 12 polling stations in and around Macleodganj-Dharamshala.Final round of voting would be held on 11 April 2021.

As soon as the election results of Tibetan Sikyong and members officially came, Penpa in a phone conversation with Himachal Abhi Abhi said that I am thankful to all the Tibetan community who have faith in me, now I will try my best. He said that the path shown by the Tibetan religious Guru The Dalai Lama will also be our first task. Penpa searing is currently in Belakupi, South India. He will come to McLeodganj in a few days. Remember that Penpa Tsering has been elected Sikyong i.e. PM for the next five years of the exiled Tibetans. Penpa got 34,324 votes while his opponent Kelsang Dorje Aukatatsang got 28,960 votes. On 11 April 2021, the election of Tibetan in Exile worldwide was officially declared today.

Young, women, monks, children elders of Tibetan community gathered at Panthaghati on National Highway 5near Shimla to boost the morale of Indian army before heading towards the conflict zone between India and China border region. The soldiers of Tibetan Frontier Force in Indian Army were given warm respect and welcome with traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice and refreshments here on the road.
