ലഡാക്കിലെ ഇന്ത്യചൈന നിയന്ത്രണ രേഖയില്‍ (എല്‍എസി) ആണ് ഒട്ടകപ്പട്ടാളം വരുന്നത്. ചരക്കുനീക്കത്തിനും പടക്കോപ്പുകള്‍ എത്തിക്കാനും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ ഉപയോഗിക്കും. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പില്‍നിന്ന് 12,000 മുതല്‍ 15,000 അടി വരെ ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള, മനുഷ്യസഞ്ചാരം ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടേറിയ പ്രദേശത്താണ് ഇവയുടെ സേവനം ഉപകാരപ്പെടുക.രാജസ്ഥാന്‍ ബിക്കാനീറിലെ നാഷനല്‍ റിസര്‍ച് സെന്ററില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള നാല് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ ആദ്യഘട്ടമായി നിയോഗിക്കും. ഇത് വിജയിച്ചാല്‍ മുതുകില്‍ രണ്ടു മുഴകളോടു കൂടിയ ബാക്ട്രിയന്‍ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍പ്പെട്ട ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെക്കൂടി ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്താനാണു തീരുമാനം. ലഡാക്കിലെ നുബ്ര താഴ്വരയില്‍ കാണപ്പെട്ടുന്ന ഇവയ്ക്കു സാധാരണ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെക്കാള്‍ കാര്യശേഷിയുണ്ട്. സാധാരണ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്‍ 40 കിലോഗ്രാം വരെ ഭാരം വഹിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ബാക്ട്രിയന്‍ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് 220 കിലോഗ്രാം വരെ ചുമക്കാനാവും. സഞ്ചാരവേഗവും കൂടുതലാണ്.നിലവില്‍ അതിര്‍ത്തിരക്ഷാ സേനയില്‍ 1200ല്‍ ഏറെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളുണ്ട്. അഞ്ചു മുതല്‍ 15 വയസ്സുവരെയാണു ശരാശരി സേവനകാലം.ബിക്കാനീര്‍ മഹാരാജാവ് ഗംഗാ സിങ്ങ് 1880ല്‍ ബിക്കാനീര്‍ ക്യാമല്‍ കോര്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചു. ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കു സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ലഭിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ബിക്കാനീര്‍ ക്യാമല്‍ കോര്‍ കരസേനയുടെ ഭാഗമായി. പിന്നീട് അതിര്‍ത്തിരക്ഷാ സേന(ബിഎസ്എഫ്)യുടെ ഭാഗമായി.

दक्षिण कोरिया में लोगों ने राष्ट्रपति पार्क ग्युन-हे के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर प्रदर्शन शुरू कर दिया है। राजधानी में हजारों लोग घोटाले के आरोप में राष्ट्रपति से इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर सड़कों पर उतर आए। उन्होंने उनके कार्यालय के चारों ओर मानव श्रृंखला बनाकर विरोध जताया। इसे कोरिया में अब तक का सबसे बड़ा प्रदर्शन माना जा रहा है. पार्क पर आरोप है कि उन्होंने अपने दोस्त चोई सून सिल को पर्दे के पीछे से सत्ता में हस्तक्षेप करने दिया है. राष्ट्रपति राष्ट्रीय टीवी पर दो बार माफ़ी मांग चुकी हैं और इस्तीफ़ा देने से इनकार कर रही हैं.
प्रदर्शन के आयोजकों का कहना है कि सर्द मौसम और बर्फ़बारी के बावजूद शनिवार रात राजधानी सियोल के मुख्य चौराहे पर क़रीब 13 लाख लोग जुटे. उनका अनुमान है कि अन्य इलाक़ों में भी क़रीब पाँच लाख और प्रदर्शनकारी जुट सकते हैं. जबकि पुलिस का कहना है कि प्रदर्शन में क़रीब ढाई लाख लोग शामिल रहे. सियोल में 25 हज़ार के क़रीब पुलिसकर्मी तैनात किए गए हैं.
एंकर--ये प्रदर्शन पाँच सप्ताह पहले शुरू हुए थे. 1980 में हुए लोकतंत्र समर्थक प्रदर्शनों के बाद से ये अब तक के सबसे बड़े प्रदर्शन हैं. शनिवार को हुए प्रदर्शनों में किसान, यूनिवर्सिटी छात्र, बौद्ध भिक्षुओं समेत समाज के हर वर्ग के लोग शामिल रहे.
