भारत के स्टार मुक्केबाज विजेंदर सिंह ने तंजानिया के फ्रांसिस चेका को दस मिनट के अंदर ही धूल चटा दी। पेशेवर मुक्कबाजी में अपराजित रहने का रिकार्ड कायम रखते हुए विजेंदर कुमार ने विश्व मुक्केबाजी संगठन WBO एशिया पैसिफिक सुपर मिडिलवेट का खिताब कायम रखा है। दिल्ली के त्यागराज स्टेडियम में विजेंदर ने पूर्व विश्व चैंपियन चेका के खिलाफ दस राउंड के मुकाबले के तीसरे राउंड में ही जीत दर्ज की। वहीं विजेंदर का हौसला बढ़ाने के लिए स्टेडियम में कई हस्तियां भी पहुंची। वर्ल्ड चैंपियन एमसी मैरीकॉम से लेकर गृह राज्यमंत्री किरण रिजजु,पहलवान सुशील कुमार और योगेश्वर दत्त भी विजेंदर का हौसला बढ़ा रहे थे। जीत के बाद विजेंदर ने सभी देशवासियों समेत अपने कोच का आभार व्यक्त किया। इस दौरान विजेंदर ने कहा कि मैंने इस मुकाबले के लिये मैनचेस्टर में दो महीने तक कड़ा अभ्यास किया था। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि चेका ने जिस तरह मीडिया में बयान दिए थे मुझे नहीं लगा था कि यह इतना आसान मुकाबला होगा। विजेंदर ने कहा कि चेका ने मुझे दांत काटने की भी कोशिश की, लेकिन मैं बच गया। मैं उनकी मजे लेकर पिटाई करना चाहता था और मैंने यही किया। आपको बता दें कि विजेंदर ने इसी साल जुलाई में आस्ट्रेलिया के कैरी होप को इसी स्टेडियम में मात देते हुए यह खिताब हासिल किया था। 2015 में पेशेवर मुक्केबाजी में कदम रखने वाले विजेंदर ने इस मुकाबले को मिलाकर कुल आठ मुकाबले खेले हैं और सभी में जीत हासिल की है।
