एलजीबीटीक्यूआईए+समुदाय के लोगों के परिजनों ने देश के मुख्य न्यायाधीश डीवाई चंद्रचूड़ को एक पत्र लिखा है। इस पत्र में मुख्य न्यायाधीश से अपील की गई है कि समलैंगिक विवाह को मंजूरी दी जाए। समलैंगिक विवाह को मंजूरी देने संबंधी याचिकाओं पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट सुनवाई कर रहा है। केंद्र सरकार इसका विरोध कर रही है। सरकार का तर्क है कि शादी को कानूनी मान्यता देना विधायिका का काम है। समलैंगिक विवाह को कानूनी मान्यता देने का अनुरोध करने वाली याचिकाओं पर मंगलवार को सुनवाई के चौथे दिन उच्चतम न्यायालय की पांच सदस्यीय संवैधानिक पीठ के दो सदस्यों ने सुनवाई में ऑनलाइन माध्यम से भाग लिया। प्रधान न्यायाधीश डी वाई चंद्रचूड़, न्यायमूर्ति हिमा कोहली और न्यायमूर्ति पी एस नरसिम्हा अदालत कक्ष में उपस्थित रहे जबकि न्यायमूर्ति एस के कौल और न्यायमूर्ति एस आर भट ने ऑनलाइन माध्यम से सुनवाई में भाग लिया।
