Oprah celebrated her 59th birthday from bed after she injured her back for lifting a heavy flower arrangement Tyler Perry sent her on her special day.
The OWN talk show host shared the news while responding to a fan's tweet on Wednesday.
'In bed with an ice pack most of today. Moved a bushel of roses sent by @tylerperry and sprained a back muscle #birthdaylove,' she wrote.
But the TV host made a quick recovery as she was back on feet the day after the incident. She even shared a photo of herself surrounded by all the flower arrangements she received. (We are unsure if the roses in the picture were the ones that caused the injury, but they sure are pretty.)
Perry, a long-time friend of Oprah's, apologized via Facebook and Twitter.
'I feel so bad,' he tweeted, linking to a Facebook page where he explained the situation to his fans and proclaimed that next year he'll be sending 'one rose' for the host's birthday. She responded saying there was no need for that..

Being Oprah Winfrey is tough, you guys. People are always confessing things to you, asking you to be in over-the-top sketches and sending you birthday flowers that are quite impossible to lift.
Yes, being Oprah is absolutely heinous, especially with Tyler Perry as your good friend. The 'Madea' actor and writer sent the media mogul a sizable flower arrangement for her 59th birthday on Tuesday, but apparently Winfrey had some trouble lifting it.
Perry took to his Facebook page to issue an apology after Winfrey strained her back:
I FEEL SO BAD
I like to send really large flower arrangements to people for whatever occasion. Well, I sent one to Oprah yesterday for her birthday. She strained her back picking it up. No joke! Feel better Oprah. Happy birthday. Sorry. :-( Next year I'm sending her one rose. :-)
Perry's flower arrangement was one of many that Winfrey received in honor of her special day. On Wednesday night, she posted a photo to Instagram that featured her standing behind several bouquets with her arms outstretched and a wide smile plastered across her face. The photo's caption read, 'Beautiful birthday. Thanks All!' (A tough life indeed!)
Perry is currently creating two sitcoms for the Oprah Winfrey Network. Both are set for mid-2013 premieres.
