The government has started the exercise to seek Himachal Pradesh's share in the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The cabinet sub-committee meeting on inter-state agreements under the Punjab Reorganization Act was held at the secretariat on Monday. Chairman of the committee, Agriculture Minister Chandra Kumar, members Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan and Jagat Negi were present in the meeting. During this, feedback was taken regarding the case going on in the Supreme Court regarding the stake in BBMB and Chandigarh and was asked to present its stand firmly in the court. The matter is to be heard by the Supreme Court on July 26.

On Sunday, 89 days employees of BBMB held a meeting at BSL school ground in Sundernagar. These employees have been working in different positions in BBMB continuously for 15 to 20 years. But no policy was made by BBMB for these. Several times these people also met the BBMB chairman but apart from assurances, nothing was achieved.
