In a case of rape, a court in Jodhpur will pronounce judgment on Asaram on Wednesday. Prior to this security arrangements have been made. The Home Ministry has asked Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana to tighten security and deploy additional forces. Asaram is accused of raping a minor girl of Shahjahanpur. This case came to light when on August 20, 2013 an FIR was lodged at Kamla Nagar police station in Delhi at 2 pm.
The victim has alleged that Asaram had called her at Mani Ashram near Jodhpur and raped her on August 15, 2013. The girl was studying in Ashram's ashram in Chhindwara of Madhya Pradesh. A case was registered against Asaram under the Poxo Act and the case was transferred to the Rajasthan Police. Asaram was booked under section 342 (wrongful confinement) of IPC, 376 (rape), 506 (criminal manslaughter) against Asaram. For some days, Asaram saved his life, but finally he was arrested from Indore on the night of 31 August. After this he was brought to Jodhpur by the aircraft.
