Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Balod, Chhattisgarh on April 09, 2014.
Addressing the rally Rahul Gandhi said, 'Chhattisgarh is not a poor state. It has all resources. It is a rich state but the people are poor. The benefit of your resources does not reach the people. It goes to the pockets of a selected few. It goes to the people who propagate 'India Shining'.'

In 2004 and 2009 BJP had come out with a slogan India Shining during parliament elections. They did good marketing but the people of our country gave them a befitting reply by routing them.

Talking about the work done by Congress led UPA government, Rahul Gandhi said, 'In the past ten years the Congress-led UPA government took various steps to help our farmers, the poor and downtrodden. We waived off loans worth Rs 70000 crore of the poor farmers; opened the doors of the banks for them. When we were initiating these, the BJP tried to block it by asking from where we will have money for it. When we arranged financial resources for it they again opposed it by saying that we were wasting money. But we were determined and went on to implement these schemes..

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Surajkund Mela Ground, Hargaon, Uttar Pradesh on April 24, 2014.

Accusing the opposition of playing divisive politics and keeping the state under-developed, Congress Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi asked the people of Uttar Pradesh to unite and vote for the Congress Party to take the state forward.

'The BSP, SP and the BJP have small dreams. They can't take the state forward... Within UP, the youth has been neglected and they have gone astray. They are looking for jobs. They go to Maharashtra, a Congress governed state, for better opportunities. In UP, they have made Hindus and Muslims fight six months before the elections, so that there are no real questions on progress and development...the Congress Party takes everybody along. No matter what your religion is, we will take the state forward,' he said at a massive rally in Hargaon.

Mr. Gandhi also cautioned the people against the BJP, which not only plays in the hands of a few industrialists, but is also making fake promises to the people of Uttar Pradesh. 'Who beats you up in Maharashtra? BJP and its ally, Shiv Sena. And then they say that they want to help you...The ideology of the BJP is to make people fight among each other, and ensure that only a few industrialists get the benefits of progress. They have nothing to offer to the poor, the farmers, the backward castes and the weaker sections of the society,' he said.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally at Godda, Jharkhand, April 01, 2014

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Godda, Jharkhand, April 01, 2014.

Rahul Gandhi said that like 2004 and 2009, the NDA's 'gas balloon' would burst again while informing that the UPA government did remarkably well, as the BJP talked divisive politics.

Like in the past, the NDA is playing colourful music and distributing sweets in anticipation of winning the polls, but it will meet the same fate as in 2004 and 2009, he said.

Ridiculing BJP's Gujarat model of development, he said, 'Jharkhand needs its own model of development and not any other model from outside.'

The Congress leader accused the BJP of joining hands with a party like MNS of Raj Thackeray which had targeted people from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in Mumbai and Maharashtra.

'Similarly, many Sikhs told me that their land was taken away at a lower rate in Gujarat in the name of development and even then Akali Dal which claims to be their champion chose to remain silent,' he alleged.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally at Aurangabad, Bihar on April 01, 2014

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Aurangabad 1 April, 2014.

Rahul Gandhi said that like 2004 and 2009, the NDA's 'gas balloon' would burst again while informing that the UPA government did remarkably well, as the BJP talked divisive politics. Ahead of every general election, the NDA and BJP come out with a new campaign balloon. They had prepared an 'India Shining' balloon in 2004. But when the ballot boxes were opened, BJP came to know that the poor in our country burst that balloon.

Normally filmmakers produce series of a successful movie like 'Dhoom'. Similarly BJP made yet another series of India Shining in 2009. But they did not understand that that was already a failed one; but they went ahead with it. Again when the election was over that balloon also was burst. Now, in 2014 also, BJP and NDA are ready with another new big balloon, called Gujarat Model.' said Rahul Gandhi

Ridiculing BJP's Gujarat model of development, he said, 'Bihar needs its own model of development and not any other model from outside.'There is no problem with this state. What we have to is just to empower its people. I know there are some issues with irrigation here and I assure you that we will definitely find a solution to it when we come back to power.' Said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Kasargod, Kerala on April 05, 2014.

Addressing the huge rally, Rahul Gandhi said that he think the politics in Kerala, the participation of people in the politics, the participation of Panchayats in politics of Kerala, is something that rest of the country must learn from. Congress party can also learn from the Congress party in Kerala on how the party operates here.

Praising the Chief Minister of Kerela, Rahul Gandhi said, ' (Oommen) Chandy Ji is the Chief Minister of Kerala. But the reality of Kerala is that the state is not being run by a single person; Kerala is run by millions and millions of Keralites. Chandi ji goes to the millions of the people, talk to them to understand their issues. He is behaving as a senior leader in Kerala.'

Talking about the opposition parties in upcoming elections, Rahul Gandhi said, 'If you look back to history, you will see that the most popular emperors or rulers were those who could create a balance between prosperity and fairness. And at the national level if you look today, there are broadly three ideas that are presented to the people. The NDA idea of India Shining -- an India where 5 to 15 business people have everything, an India where prosperity is limited to a few selected people. On the other side you have the Left vision. For them Industry, prosperity and business have no consequence.
