बाराबंकी में नगरपालिका और जल विभाग के लापरवाह अफसरों के चलते मजदूर जान हथेली पर रख कर काम करते है। नगर में टुटी हुई पानी सप्लाई को जोडने के लिए मजदूरों को बिना सुरक्षा उपकरणों से ठंडे पानी के 5 से 10 फिट गहरे गड्ढे में उतरना पड़ता है। टूटी पाइप लाइन को ठीक करने के लिए नगर पालिका ने ठेके पर काम दे दिया है, जिस से मजदूरों के जीवन से खिलवाड़ हो रहा है । और गंदे पानी के अंदर कर्मचारी पांच से सात मिनट तक मौत से दो-दो हाथ करते है। इस गन्दे पानी मे जान हथेली पर लेकर घण्टो पानी मे रहना पड़ता
