पानी की जंग में कर्नाटक और तमिलनाडु दिन ब दिन सुलगते जा रहे है। कावेरी जल विवाद को लेकर बेंगलुरु समेत कर्नाटक के कई हिस्सों में हिंसक प्रदर्शन जारी है। पुलिस ने भीड़ पर काबू पाने के लिए फायरिंग की, जिसमें एक व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई। जबकि एक अन्य घायल हो गया। वहीं बेंगलुरु में बिगड़े हालात के बाद धारा 144 लगा दी गई है, और बेंगलुरु में 16 थाना क्षेत्रों में कर्फ्यू लगा दिया गयाहै। हालात इतने बेकाबू हो गए है कि उपद्रवियों को देखते ही गोली मारने तक के आदेश दिए गए है...दोनों राज्यों में शांति बनाने के लिए लगातार लोगों से शांति बनाए रखने की अपील की जा रही है...वहीं इस मामले में कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री सिद्धारमैया ने तमिलनाडु की सीएम जयललिता को पत्र लिखकर दोनों राज्यों के बीच मैत्री कायम रखने में सहयोग करने का अनुरोध किया है। कर्नाटक और तमिलनाडु की हिंसा से केंद्र सरकार भी एक्शन में है...केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने दोनों राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों से बात की है.. साथ ही केंद्र की तरफ से पूरी मदद का आश्वासन दिया है।

कावेरी जल विवाद पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले के बाद एक बार फिर कनार्टक में जनजीवन प्रभावित हो रहा है। करीब 800 कन्नड़ समर्थक संगठनों ने कर्नाटक बंद में भाग लिया है। बंद से कनार्टक की रफ्तार थम सी गई है। सुप्रीमकोर्ट के फैसले का विरोध करते हुए एक हफ्ते से कम समय में यह दूसरी बार है, जब कर्नाटक बंद हुआ है। बंद के आह्वान को देखते हुए राज्य में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था कड़ी कर दी गई है और प्रदेश भर में अतिरिक्त सुरक्षा बल तैनात किए गए हैं। बंद का 3,800 पेट्रोल और डीज़ल पंपों ने भी समर्थन किया है। इतना ही नहीं, केबल ऑपरेटरों ने भी 53 तमिल चैनल ब्लॉक करके बंद का समर्थन किया है, साथ ही स्कूल और कॉलेज पूरी तरह से बंद हैं। सभी तरह के व्यापारिक कॉम्प्लैक्स और दुकानों में भी ताले लटक रहे हैं। होटल और रेस्टोरेंट के शटर भी आज नहीं खुले। ऑटो, बसों,और मेट्रो की रफ्तार भी रोक दी गई है। बेंगलूरु के सिनेमाघरों से तमिल फिल्में उतार दी गई हैं और यहां रहने वाली तमिल आबादी अपनी सुरक्षा को लेकर चिंतित है। आपको बता दें कि कर्नाटक सरकार ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में तमिलनाडु को 10 क्यूसेक पानी रोज देने का प्रस्ताव दिया था, जबकि तमिलनाडु की मांग 20 हज़ार क्यूसेक पानी की थी। कोर्ट ने दोनों राज्यों की मांग के बाद 15 हज़ार क्यूसेक पानी का कोटा निर्धारित किया। लेकिन कर्नाटक की जनता कोर्ट के इस फैसले से संतुष्ट नहीं है। कर्नाटक का कहना है कि उनके पास खुद पर्याप्त पानी नहीं है, तो वह कहां से तमिलनाडु को देगा।
