...दरअसल आतंकवाद रोधी विचार संस्था 'किलियम' की एक रिपोर्ट में दावा किया गया है कि यूरोपीय संघ की पुलिस एजेंसी ने बेसहारा हो चुके बच्चों की अनुमानित संख्या 88,300 बताई है, जो फिलहाल लापता हैं और इनके कट्टर होने की आशंका जताई है। इस रिपोर्ट पर 'किलियम' की वरिष्ठ अध्ययनकर्ता निकिता मलिक ने बताया कि अतिवादी समूह युवा शरणार्थियों को निशाना बना रहे हैं क्योंकि उन्हें आसानी से शिकार बनाकर लड़ाके बनाया जा सकता है और लड़कियों के मामले में लड़ाकों की नई पीढ़ी तैयार की जा रही है। इतना ही नहीं तस्करों के ज़रिये आईएसएस में इन मासूमों की भर्ती हो रही है।

जहाजरानी मंत्रालय महानिदेशालय ने चेन्नई के एन्नोर के पास दो मालवाहक जहाजों की टक्कर के बाद तेल रिसाव की घटना की जांच के आदेश दिये है। महानिदेशालय से जारी एक बयान में कहा गया है कि मर्चेंट शिपिंग अधिनियम के तहत इस दुर्घटना के कारण और जिम्मेदारी तय करने के लिये जांच के आदेश दिये गये है। चेन्नई में पिछले शनिवार को जिन दो जहाजों की टक्कर के बाद बड़े पैमाने पर तेल का रिसाव हुआ था। दोनो जहाजों के क्रू से पूछताछ की जा रही है। सूत्रों ने कहा कि जांच पूरी होने तक दोनों जहाजों और उनके क्रू को कामराजार बंदरगाह से जाने की इजाजत नहीं दी जाएगी। जहाजों की टक्कर की वजह से समुद्र में फैले तेल को साफ करने का काम लगातार जारी है। आपको बता दें कि 28 जनवरी को दो मालवाहक जहाज टकरा गए थे, जिससे तेल रिसाव हुआ था। हादसे और बाद में रिसाव होने के कारण समुद्र में तेल फैल गया, जिससे पर्यावरण को गंभीर नुकसान पहुंचा. एन्नौर से कई किलोमीटर दूर तटरेखा के इर्द-गिर्द मछलियां और कछुए मृत पाए गए थे। तेल रिसाव होने के छह दिन बाद अलग-अलग एजेंसियों के 2,000 से अधिक कर्मियों ने सफाई अभियान तेज कर दिया है। तटरक्षक का मानना है

ഇന്ത്യയിലെ വായു മലിനീകരണത്തിന്റെ ഭീകരത തെളിവാക്കുന്ന ലോക ആരോഗ്യ സംഘടനയുടെ റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് പുറത്തു .വായു മലിനീകരണം കാരണം അഞ്ച് വയസ്സില് താഴെയുള്ള 1.25 ലക്ഷം കുട്ടികള് 2016 ല് മാത്രം രാജ്യത്ത് മരിച്ചതായി ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടന പറയുന്നു.
ലോകത്തെ ഇതേ കാരണം കൊണ്ടുള്ള മരണത്തിന്റെ അഞ്ചിലൊന്നും ഇന്ത്യയിലാണ്. ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതലും ഇന്ത്യയില് തന്നെയാണ്. വായു മലിനീകരണവും ആരോഗ്യവും എന്ന വിഷയത്തില് ആദ്യമായി ലോകാരോഗ്യ സംഘടന സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആഗോള കോണ്ഫറന്സില് വച്ച റിപ്പോര്ട്ടിലാണ് ഈ ഞെട്ടിക്കുന്ന വിവരമുള്ളത്.
കല്ക്കരി അടക്കമുള്ള ജൈവ ഇന്ധനം കത്തിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെയുണ്ടാകുന്ന മലിനീകരണം അഞ്ച് വയസ്സില് താഴെയുള്ള 67,000 കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെ മരണത്തിന് കാരണമായി.
വാഹനങ്ങളുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പുകയും അടക്കമുള്ള പൊതുഇടങ്ങളിലെ മലിനീകരണം 61,000 കുട്ടികളുടെ ജീവനെടുത്തു. ഇത് 2016 ലെ മാത്രം കണക്കാണ്.
കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെ ശ്വാസകോശവും, മറ്റ് അവയവങ്ങളും വളര്ച്ചയുടെ ഘട്ടത്തിലായതിനാല് മുതിര്ന്നവരെക്കാള് വേഗത്തില് അവര് ശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാല് തന്നെ കൂടുതല് വായു ഉള്ളിലെത്തുന്നു, അതുവഴി മറ്റുള്ളവരെക്കാള് കൂടുതല് അവര് മലിനീകരണത്തിന് ഇരയാകുന്നു. നവജാതശിശുക്കള് വീട്ടില് പാകം ചെയ്യുമ്പോള് കത്തിക്കുന്ന പുകയില് നിന്നാണ് കൂടുതല് വായുമലിനീകരണത്തിന് ഇരയാകുന്നത്.
