Mauvin Godnho on Wednesday said that he will call for a meeting with the taxi operators on Tuesday and take up the issues of the taxi operators.
Godonho said that he would resolve their issues and also take it up with the cabinet on Wednesday so that the solutions could be implemented.
Godinho said that Government was willing to sympathetically hear the various issues of the taxi operators while asking other political parties to refrain from making politics from the taxi issue
' This is not about BJP vs Other parties but is about survival of tourism . It is not right of the taxi operators to get influenced by other parties and talk illogical. The taxi operators must come and discuss with the government and we can solve their issues with negotiations. We have given time taxi operators to come for discussion but we will not allow anyone to take law in hands or to hit other drivers . We are not considering other proposals of other aggregations like Ola and Uber ' said Godinho

Godinho said that taxi rates were made in 2014 and would be changed and revised' Godinho said that rates would be improved and revised before installing meters to taxi.

Godinho said that Initially it was informed that Goa miles but taxi operators were not willing to join them and said that transport department was willing to fund the taxi operators in case they wanted to start their own app instead of having insights amidst associations and creating a bad name for themselves.
