There was panic in areas around Borim as local spotted a leopard walking calmly in the village. The big cat than started walking towards the Borim circle. Local youths, a few days back also recorded the movement of leopard on the mobile phones. People were afraid since there is a school, kinder garden, primary school and densely built houses in the locality where the leopard was sighted. Today morning the forest officials were sucessful in trapping the leopard in a cage. The locals have finally breathed a sigh of relief. Wild animals like leopards are seen nowadays n areas of human settlements since they are facing a shortage of food and their natural habitat too is threatened. In villages, dogs and cattle become easy prey for them. Governments needs to urgently protect the natural habitat of leopards to avoid further human-leopard conflicts
