Collapsed iron bridge pillar.

An iron pillar of a bridge built for an iron bridge over Jampanna brook between Dodla-Malya in Ethurunagaram mandal of Mulugu district has collapsed due to incessant rains for ten days.

Earlier, the high level bridge built on the same river was washed away by the flow of Jampanna river... Meanwhile, a temporary road with cement pipes was constructed on the river in the wake of the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma fair held this year on the river next to the collapsed bridge. It was also washed away by the river flow. With this, the construction of iron bridge works on the same bridge was undertaken under the direction of ITDA engineering department officials with Rs.35 lakhs. As part of the construction, an iron support pillar was installed in the middle, but the Jampanna river collapsed due to heavy flood flow.

Due to this, the other four tribal villages of Kondai, Govindarajula Colony, Mallyala, Ailapur, are facing difficulties due to the suspension of vehicular traffic. Only one other boat is available for them at the river. It is noteworthy that this boat is also arranged by the authorities to send people who need emergency treatment across the stream to the hospital. The people of the above four villages are struggling for essential items.
