നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളായി ജപ്പാന്‍ തിമിംഗിലങ്ങളെ വന്‍ തോതില്‍ വേട്ടയാടുകയും അവയുടെ ഇറച്ചി ഭക്ഷണാവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുവന്നിരുന്നു
