സമദൂരം എന്ന നിലപാട് ഇരട്ടത്താപ്പാണെന്നും ഏതില്‍നിന്നെല്ലാമാണ് സമദൂരം പാലിക്കുന്നതെന്ന കാര്യംആലോചിക്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് വാര്‍ത്താ സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. വര്‍ഗീയതയ്ക്ക് എതിരെ നവോത്ഥാനത്തിനൊപ്പം ചേരലല്ലാതെ അതിനിടയില്‍ ഒരു സമദൂരത്തിന്റെ ഇടമുണ്ടോ എന്ന് പരിശോധിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. ഏതില്‍നിന്നെല്ലാം സമദൂരം പാലിക്കുന്നു എന്നത് സ്വയം ചിന്തിക്കണം. ഇത്തരം നിലപാടില്‍ ഇരട്ടത്താപ്പ് ഉണ്ട് എന്നാണ് സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാനാകുന്നതെന്നും പിണറായി പറഞ്ഞു.
മരുമക്കത്തായ സമ്പ്രദായങ്ങള്‍ അടക്കമുള്ള അനാചാരങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ മന്നത്ത് പത്മനാഭനെപ്പോലുള്ളവര്‍ നടത്തിയ പ്രക്ഷോഭങ്ങള്‍ മറക്കാറായിട്ടില്ല. മന്നത്തിനേപ്പോലുള്ള സമൂഹ്യ പരിഷ്‌കര്‍ത്താക്കളുടെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്നും പ്രസക്തമാണ്. സുപ്രീം കോടതിയുടെ വിധിപോലും അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്ന് പറയുന്നവര്‍ ഭരണഘടനയേയും പൗരാവകാശങ്ങളെയും മതേതരത്വ മൂല്യങ്ങളെയുമാണ് നിഷേധിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കണമെന്നും പിണറായി പറഞ്ഞു.
സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കുക എന്നത് വര്‍ഗസമരത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമല്ല എന്ന നിലപാട് ശരിയല്ലെന്നും മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ പരിഹരിക്കുക എന്നത് വര്‍ഗസമരത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിത്തന്നെയാണ് കാണുന്നതെന്നും പിണറായി വിജയന്‍ വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ഇന്നത്തെ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ വനിതാ മതില്‍ അനിവാര്യമാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.വനിതാമതില്‍ പോലൊരു പരിപാടിയില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തതിന്റെ പേരില്‍ ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊരു സംഘടനയ്ക്ക അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കെതിരെ നടപടിയെടുക്കാന്‍ സാധിക്കില്ല. നവോത്ഥാന വിരുദ്ധരായി നവോത്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായ സംഘടനകള്‍ക്ക് പെരുമാറാനാകുമെന്ന് കരുതുന്നില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് അത്തരം സംഘടനകളില്‍നിന്നുള്ളവരെല്ലാം വനിതാമതിലില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കും.ശബരിമലയില്‍ സ്ത്രീകള്‍ പോകണോ വേണ്ടയോ എന്നതു മാത്രമല്ല വനിതാ മതിലിന്റെ വിഷയം. കൂടുതല്‍ വിശാലമായാണ് വനിതാ മതില്‍ എന്ന ആശയത്തെ കാണേണ്ടത്. ശബരിമലയില്‍ പുരുഷന് തുല്യമായ അവകാശം നല്‍കണമെന്ന കോടതി വിധി നടപ്പാക്കുന്നത് സ്ത്രീപുരുഷ സമത്വത്തിന്റെ പ്രശ്‌നമാണ്. ഈ സമത്വം എന്ന ആശയത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയാണ് വനിതാ മതില്‍ തീര്‍ക്കുന്നതെന്നും മു
